Case studies

The following case studies showcase our programs in action serving a global set of clients and tackling a broad range of impact focused goal

Description

For the past 10 years, our founders have helped young people launch startups, and become budding entrepreneurs with business concepts, multi-disciplinary teams, and a focused pathway to changing the world. We’ve designed and run a number of accelerators, and incubators across many themes including energy, water, food security, transportation, and more.

Objective

In late 2015, we were commissioned by a major European family office to build a world-class live/work energy-focused incubator in London to help turn students with great business ideas into investment ready startups. The client sought to identify the top early stage energy companies in the world, invite them to a six-week training and learning program, and then fund the most promising startups.

Outcomes

Leveraging our founders’ global network and experience designing action-based education programs, we built and executed a six-week program where  40 early stage energy startups from +30 countries were shortlisted through a proprietary screening and selection process. The program brought more than 60 global experts to London to mentor and coach students, “graduated” more than 120 entrepreneurs, and disbursed $1m of early stage financing

Description

Our entrepreneurship programs are best-in-class and focus on helping young people, inside and outside of university walls, launch entrepreneurial ventures that solve human challenges. We assist governments and the private sector to engage and inspire millions of youth to use entrepreneurship as a force for good, going from job seekers to job creators.

Objective

In early 2016, we began a dialogue with a number of local and international organizations seeking to help Jordanian youth learn the skills of the future while improving their chances of finding secure and meaningful employment opportunities. The organizations wished to train at least 50,000 young people over the next five years while identifying potential social enterprise opportunities and deploying investment funds into innovative local startups.

Outcomes

In partnership with a global market leader, we nationalized a bespoke 5-year entrepreneurship program that engaged with more than 30 Jordanian Universities, training more than 5,000 students in its first year, and targeting to double that number in its second. We also created a funnel leveraging the local community of entrepreneurs and experts to shortlist top entrepreneurs, train them, and provide logistical and financial support to 50 of the best companies.

Description

Our youth-centered events take the form of festivals, conferences, workshops, hackathons, and combinations thereof. We design bespoke programs for government and private sector customers around the world that engage their youth in unique ways, leading to tangible outcomes and real commitments.

Objective

In late 2017, we were hired by an emerging market financial institution to create an engaging forum to connect with youth. The bank sought to use the event as a launching pad for a number of new youth-focused financial products, to connect with that market segment more directly, and to promote a number of its educational and CSR campaigns aimed at youth.

Outcomes

After a 3-month evaluation period of the local Beirut ecosystem, we designed and launched the Changemaker Festival in September of 2018. The festival brought together more than 5,000 youth and held +30 workshops, panels, and educational sessions. The festival also gave away 300,000$ of prizes across multiple disciplines (painting, photography, entrepreneurship), educational workshops, and entertainment (food, sports, music, etc.).

Description

In our conversations with heads of state and corporate leaders around the world, we all see the lack of recognition afforded to individuals using their influence and wealth to make a positive contribution to their customer and community. An integral part of the entrepreneurship process involves highlighting success stories and providing young people with opportunities for inspiration. Our awards ceremonies, demo days, startup gala dinners, and other events inspire millions.

Objective

In mid 2018, a major emerging market head of state assigned us the difficult task of unifying the business community and public sector under a common cause while encouraging entrepreneurs and business leaders to start thinking more carefully about social impact and CSR.

Outcomes

The Lebanon Impact Awards were held at the Grand Serail in Beirut and drew more than 300 top business, government, arts, sports, and academic leaders. The event was covered by more than 30 Lebanese and regional media outlets, and nominated more than 20 leading Lebanese citizens using their wealth and influence to make a difference
